Male patient in early 40s came to my office due to pain as a result of his gout. Severe pain was located in his right ankle and knee causing him to limp. Affected areas are red and swollen and very painful to touch.
His signs/symptoms
Abdominal distention after meals; sleep apnea; waking up multiple times at night; sweaty hands and feet; episodes of gout every month or two; slightly overweight; loves to eat greasy fatty food
Treatment
Bleeding GB 44 (right side) since GB 40 area is swollen. then
left GB 38 with reducing technique
all left side LI 1 - ST 45 - GB 41 + ST 43 +
80 % improvement after 2 sessions within 2 days.
According to classic text gout is due to damp heat....

Incontinence for years
50 year old male patient came to my office due to right shoulder pain.
His sign/symptoms: slightly over weight; incontinence for years; high blood pressure; severe abdominal fullness/distention after meals; teary eyes when exposed to wind
Treatment: Sp 3 - kd 3- Lu 8 +Kd 7 +
Out of all these points SP 3 - worked most. Ping Wei San was given.
after 2 weeks of treatment, his shoulder pain is about 60 % better along with significant improvement of incontinence.

Esophagus Burn
A lady in early 30s came in due to her low back pain. After acupuncture treatment was done she asked if acupuncture can work for her pain in her throat. She ate something really hot (boiling hot) last night and it burned her throat and she feels burning/sharp pain when she swallows food or drinks liquid.

Tenosynovitis in hand
Recently two patient came in due to pain in their hands due to tenosynovitis in hands.
There were no other sign/symptoms which migh have caused it.
Treatment
SI 6 through SJ 5 (Opposite side)
about 50% improvement on the first visit. They came once a week for 4-5 week till they feel completely better.

Bakers Cyst
50 Year old female patient came to my office due to pain in her left leg for a few months.
She had a Baker's cyst in the back of her left leg which bursted a few month ago. Since then her whole left leg especially the calf has been so painful.
Other signs/symptoms
Palpitation not related to anxiety; sticky greenish phlegm in the throat which she expectorates in the morning on occasions; bubbly sound in the stomach; dark circles under her eyes, itchiness behind ears, stomach acid, indigestion, abdomenal bloating.
Treatment
right SP 3 - (reducing tech) Pain immediately disappeared.
Modified er chen tang given.
