frozen shoulder - adhesive capsulitits cases

case 1
65 year old male patient was referred to my clinic for his right shoulder pain (frozen shoulder). He has been suffering from it for 1 year and had some physical therapy and shots for his pain.

other signs and symptoms: frequent urination at night;he gets up every two hours at night to urinate. Hearing loss in bilateral ears (started 2-3 years ago) abdominal distention after meals. history of gall bladder removal. No problems with sleeping. He does not look anxious or stressed. For the last 2-3 years he has been suffering from constipation, occasional bilateral ringing in the ears.  abdomen is painful to touch esp along Ren 15 -> Ren 8. 

prefers fall.  no hot/cold s/s.

Tx: L Kd 3- Sp 3- LU8 + KD 7 +

ROM of right shoulder improved and pain was significantly better along with pressure pain along the Ren line.


case 2.

50 year old male patient with frozen shoulder for 3 years. ROM is limited. abd 0-70 with moderate pain.

He wakes up twice at night to urinate.  Libido is low. Low Voice tone. Fatigue.

Tx: L Kd 3- Sp 3- LU8 + KD 7 +

ROM improved by 10 degrees.

headache for 2 days

25 yr old female patient says she can't function due to severe headache for two days. Her headache is located on the top and all left side of her head. She also has sharp pain and tightness in the neck area near GB 20 and 21 (back of the neck).

she is thin and normally has moderate to severe abdominal cramps before period. other signs and symptoms include dizziness when standing up from sitting position. Heat sensation in the upper body. slight thirst. no palpitation. her work is stressful.

tx. LU 8 - then she felt slightly better.

1 cun above LV 2 then pain was about 50% better. later that night patient emailed me stating her headache was gone. she came back in 2 days due to a different issue and told me she no longer suffers from her headache.

trigger fingers for serveral years

50 yr old female came to my office due to pain and numbness in her right hand for several years. she self-diagnosed it as carpal tunnel syndrome because of occasional numbness in her hand and arm (right side)

based on exams she has tenosynovitis in her right hand (worst in the middle and ring finger area) this is also known as trigger finger. in her case the inflammation is not so severe her fingers dont "lock" (as shown in the picture.

all other signs and symptoms are negative and she tells me she needs to use her hands a lot at work.

tx: bled jing well points. (right SJ 1 and PC 9) then needled left SI 6 thru SJ 5 on her first visit.

then she had 3 more treatments using SI 6 thru SJ 5. stiffness in her right hand is gone and she doent feel numb in the hand.

Hip pain

65 year old female patient with chronic hip pain. She is limping even with her cane and tells me she is in excruciating pain in her right hip joint. Her previously had a left hip replacement surgery and recently her medical doctor told her she needs a hip replacement but she wants to try something else first.

signs and sypmtoms

sightly overweight; she doest look Liver type person, she wakes up a few time a night. palpitations, wake up to urinate once at night. no cold or hot symptoms except her feet get cold at times. Right hip pain is located along GB channel (side of thigh) pain is worse with walking.

ST 36 + GB 41 - (left foot)

with two treatments patient could wak without cane. (UB excess Korean four needle tech)

Heel Spur

35 yr old female patient came to my office due to severe heel pain for 1 yr. pain is located in her left heel and her doctor diagnosed as heel spur.

signs and sypmtoms
frequent urination (including 1-2 time at night) asthma SOB slightly overweight no cold or hot symptoms.

treatment: sp 3- kd 3- lu 8+

instant relief of pain and ROM immediately improved.
