45 year old male patient says he injured his right index finger at work about 2 months ago. (right index finger was sprained/hyper extended medially) since then joint (right metacarpophalangeal) gets so swollen he can't make a fist. Swelling gets worse in the morning and its warm to touch.
Treatment
LI 1 bled (a few drops) decreased pain by 20%
LI 11- didn't work.
LI 11 + decreased pain by another 20%
Finally LI 5 - (fire point) decreased pain by another 40%. and he could make a fist.
after a week he came back and he could still make a fist but moderate pain is still in the joint.
The same treatment was done except for LI 1. Patient looked very happy and ask "Can I leave these needle in me?"

Rotator Cuff Syndrome
50 Year old male patient came to see me for right shoulder pain for 3 months. According to his doctor his shoulder pain is due to rotator cuff syndrome without tear.
He can't raise his shoulder and upon palpation his neck and shoulder muscles are very tight and painful.
Other signs and symptoms
He wakes up in the mid of night to go to restroom to urinate (1-2x night); low voice tone; slight abdomenal distention with moderate indigestion issues; slightly heavy body type.
Treatment
Kd 3- Sp 3-
SI6 thru SJ5 added.
After 20 min of treatment ROM for his right shoulder is almost full and pain is almost gone.

Nausea and vomiting for 1 day
A friend of mine called me asking for help with her nausea/vomitting. she had fish and rice for breakfast and since then she felt a "knot" in her stomach along with nausea and vomit and severe gnawing headache in the temporal area.
She is thin. Her hands/feet normally are not cold. For the last few days he felt a little tired. She rarely experiences indigestion issues.
Treatment
Since Ren 12 area (mid stomach area) and navel area were tender and painful with pressure SP 4 - was done. Stomach pain improved but much of her headache , nausea remained the same.
ST 44 - was added without any further improvement.
after needles were removed she vomited a couple of times... but all the symptoms remained the same.
She told me she saw some white sticky discharge (vaginal which is not usually for her) she couldn't open her eyes because of dizziness.
SP 3- her headache, nausea, and dizziness disappeared after about 5-10 minutes.
Next day I was told she felt completely better.
How fast can phlegm (acupuncturist's term to call the cause of all symptoms like hers) can be generated in our body? as fast as 1 day? After treatment her symptoms are all gone Does it mean her phlegm is all gone too?

Brain Tumor
65 year old female patient has been coming to my office due to pain as a result of a tumor in her brain and lyme's disease. Due to the tumor (found in 2011) her whole left side is in pain. The worst pain is in/around her left eye; there is always a heavy feeling and moderate pain in her left eye lids.
She is thin and her appetite is poor. Upon palpation Ren points in her stomach is painful to touch.

Acute Nephritis
40 year old male patient came in due to pain in his foot. As he is talking about his symptoms, he tells me he starts to feel some sharp pain on left side of his low back. He had an episode of kidney stones and felt the same pain then... His face turns red and he says his back pain is so excruciating he can't even walk.
Minutes later he calls his MD and was told he seems to have acute nephritis. Since he cant even walk I gave him some treatments as follows:
SP 3 - without any improvement (so it wasnt Spleen --> Kidney issue)
Kd 2 - (right side) pain significantly decreased... 10 to almost 0.
Kd 10 + added (right side)
after 15 minutes he tells me pain is gone. He didn't have TCM heart signs such as palpitation...
I called him next day and found out he was fine.
