swollen eye lids for 1 day

50 yr old lady with swollen eyelid (left side) + red eye

no signs or symptoms

doctor told her it is due to some infection and advised she use steroid drops. after use, her eye is less red but still swollen. upper eye lid is worse then the lower.

tx. st 44 + st 41 - sp 2 -

left needle for 20 min. lower eye lid looks normal and upper eyelid looks about 50% better.

patient says she feels less pressure.

there was another case where patient had a swollen lower eye lid. st 41 and 44 were used. patient felt a bit better the same day and following morning swelling was gone.

tendonitis of knee

female patient in mid 30s came in due to pain in her bilateral knees for 3 months. she never had any pain in her knees before. she states she did lots of exercises then knee pain started. left knee is worse.

pain is located around knee cab along sp channels bilaterally.

she is sl heavy has slight digestion problems depending on what she eats. nausea at times. palpitations when anxious, sleeping is fine. hands and feet are sl cold. no dizziness but blurry vision on occasions.

Tx: LV 1 + no change in pain then LV 1 - again no change in pain
so I concluded her knee pain is just due to exercises.

Tx right side SI 6 thru SJ 5 knee pain improves 90 % then added sp 6 upward (left leg)

acute pain in neck

30 yr old male patient came to my office due to neck pain for 1 day. he overworked and slept for 1 hr only. the following day his neck felt so stiff he cant turn his neck side to side and up and down and worst pain is when he flexes his neck down.

Tx: SI 3

lateral rotation is much better but flexing/extending is still painful.

I was thinking about doing UB 65 and ren 24. then I realized I never used ren 24 alone for this problem but always used with ub65.

tx: ren 24 ==> not much improvement

then UB 65 flex/ext improves about 70%.

carpal tunnel syndrome

carpal tunnel syndrome patient came to my office. pain was located primarily in pc and ht channels. she states it started after typing too much at work for one yr. pain is always present but worse after work.

she is about 40 yr old. her work is very stressful and she feels a lot better when she is not working.

s/s: severe imsomnia (related to stress) no nausea no palpitation, cold hands and feet (since child) , no urination or defication problems, slight anxiety, dizziness upon standing up fast from sitting position, blurry vision on occasion, dry mouth red eyes only when she does not sleep. like summer

dx liver deficiency

tx LV 8+ KD 10 +

CTS pain completely disappeared. (it seems she also has other issues. most obvious signs are liver signs. in addition, pc is the jueyin pair and Ht is the son (mother son pair)

2nd visit
patient states she felt completely better for 2-3 days but pain came back as soon as she starts typing at work. she added she slept well for a couple of days after the first visit here.

2nd treatment lv 8 + kd 10 + lu 8 -

vomiting

40 yr old male patient came to my office due to severe stomach pain and vomiting. he did not have any history of digestion problems. he states his stomach has been painful since he had 2 slices of bread a few days ago.

s.s. appetite is fine but he is afraid to eat anything, vomit after meal, pain in stomach, distention and gas in stomach, upon palpation ren 14 and ren 12 areas are very painful, hands and feet are cold.

p 6 sp 4 did not work.

st 44 + st 41 - pain stopped.

patient went to see his doctor a few days after this acupuncture treatment (patient was not feeling 100% better after 2 treatment) his MD told him he has stomach ulcer. since then patient did not come back. It seems patient does not believe acupuncture can treat stomach ulcer.
